Located in Zeeland, Michigan, Jeweral Washington, Founder and CEO, established J-Max Transportation in 2000, as a result of 30 years experience in the transportation arena and a strong entrepreneurial focus
In the early stages of operations, Jeweral & Olivia Washington were the only employees of J-Max, each taking on a variety of roles. The first load was pulled by J-Max in July of 2001, with Jeweral himself behind the wheel. During the first year of service, J-Max began earning its reputation for professionalism and reliability, with zero late deliveries and service issues. Clientele began to increase and J-Max obtained lucrative lanes and leasing agreements on equipment. And in July of 2002 the Michigan Minority Business Development Council (MMBCC) certified J-Max as a Minority Business Entrepreneur.
J-Max experienced tremendous growth within the first two years, leading to the purchase of aditional equipment and the hiring of new personnel. With a keen business mind, Jeweral recognized the need for diversity among logistic brokerage services and seized the opportunity to launch J-Max Logistic Brokerage, Inc.
J-Max currently employs 23 drivers and 6 office-staff, owns and operates 23 power units and 65 trailers, and is licensed and authorized to run all 48 contiguous states.
